The Forgotten Dream of Sailor

On wind swept shores both far away
and in the even sun
a force of nature
palindrome
a thing which must be done
it tells a tale to me of
beaches never seen,
forged of shining mist of blue and gold and green
the thought that such a thing
should touch an earthly life
has sent the sailors and many souls
in search of what was lost
for I have found that peace and life
are nothing but a game,
and time spent from god wandering
is doomed to end in shame

And thus they build their mighty ships
to carry them afar,
in hopes to match their hearts and wits
against the teeming sea
little caring of the lives that they
have ripped and snapped in twain
what do such things matter in search of earthly gain?
peace on earth? good will toward men?
as I said they're but a game
and time spent from god wandering
is doomed to end in shame.
